What is Google Docs?
Google Docs is like Word, but it's in your web browser. This means you can work on your writing from any computer. You can also let other people look at your writing, or even let other people write at the same time as you!
How do I log into Google Docs?
Your account on Google Docs is the same as your account on your blog. It's a really bad idea to keep making new accounts; instead, if you can't remember your password, click "Forgot my password," and you will get an email allowing you to reset your password.
How do I share a Google Doc with other people?
- Your Google Docs are private until you change their settings. This means you can't just send somebody a link to your Doc; they will be denied access.
- If you just want to let one person see your Google Doc, click on 'Sharing' and invite people. If you want to invite Mr. Proctor to your Google Doc, use mr.chris.proctor@gmail.com. When you invite Mr. Proctor, please allow me to edit as well as view, so I can leave feedback.
- If you want a link anybody can use, click on 'Sharing' and choose "Publish as a web page." Make sure you click the option to republish every time you make changes. When you are linking one Google Doc to another, go this route.
